| Right before your 20th, and for every one after that, birthdays change. I don’t remember ever contemplating on life when I turned 12. Or what I’ve become when I turned 17. Not that my memory is all too good to begin with.. but yes, it was different then. You’ll say it’s because you’re growing up, and you’re more mature and that it’s normal. Change is after all, inevitable.
But it’s not.
It’s not any one of those things. Somewhere along the way you just stopped growing and change, however inevitable it may seem, just didn’t happen.
But hey! Maybe it’s a good thing. Forever young, forever free?
But maybe.. just maybe.. I want to have something to celebrate. Something more than just a date.
Maybe I want to move forward. Do greater things..?
Maybe I want to go beyond. Beyond my wildest dreams.
And maybe. just maybe…. I can make it happen for me.

| it's been a couple of weeks since my parents got back from hongkong. mama was super cool and got me a couple of nice tops even if i didnt really ask for pasalubong. i'm about to get a new macbook and figured that was enough for me.. i do remember asking for a brush set though, because let's face it... brush sets here are so expensive! i figured she could get me one at hk for cheap, but alas, she forgot! it's ok and i actually forgot about it... well unti i saw this!
yup, a make up line named after me! haha! ok. not exactly... but close enough! i knew i just had to have it! and what do you know... i might not even have to pay for it. BEAUTY FOR A LIVING is giving away a mika<3shu brush set along with some other really nice prizes. head on over to her blog to know more... and wish me luck!!!

| shom almost never eats what i cook because i cant really make filipino food. you can just imagine how happy i was when he asked me if i could make beef and broccoli. i dont know why i only got to it today, but he loved it! so much that we're making it again on monday. i figured i'd post the recipe then... a regular and maybe a spicy version. i also forgot to take a picture, so yea... monday!

| i was bored waiting for shom so i ended up whipping up an easy (and random) after school treat from my sibs. i never bake because it's just too complicated, but this is a no-brainer. haha! i even measured (well sort of) just in case i wanted to make this again...
mise en place

2 1/2 cups oats 1 cup corn flakes 2 cups chopped chocolate 2/3 cup honey 1/2 stick of butter (2oz) 1 tbsp oil 1 tsp vanilla extract a pinch of rock salt
grease your baking sheet and pre-heat the oven to 300°.
mix first three ingredients in a bowl and then set aside. heat and melt oil and butter in a sauce pan. add honey and bring to a boil. add salt and vanilla then simmer for 5 minutes. pour over your dry mixture. mix with a spatula or a wooden spoon to combine all your ingredients. spread mixture on a cooking sheet (about 1/2 inch thick) and pop in the oven for about 7-10 minutes. cool, cut into squares and enjoy!

*i figured baking would make them hold better, but you can definitely chose not to. i'm just not a fan of chewy bars, that's all :D | | |
